Where are they?

Why aren't there very many used AR's out there. I see these websights out there with lots of military surplus weapons like the sks, ak, ex. Where are the used Ar's. I can't afford a new one but I want to own an Ar.

I don't believe any of the AK's you see are military surplus, since those are all select fire weapons ... and since our military still uses the M-16/AR they wouldn't be considered surplus ... and even if they were, our government would give them to our "allies" like they have done in the past with the M-14 [:(!]
