Reloaders! Ran out of Mica how about Talcum?

I was doing up a batch of .300 WBY's when I ran out of mica for lubing the case necks. I dumped some of my daughters talcum powder in the dish. It seemed to work OK.
Has anyone ever tried this? Is it going to be ok?

  Well---it won't hurt anything. How's about trying powdered graphite?

  If you're using it for neck sizing, I'd say you're safe, particularly if you clean your cases again before loading.
  
  I wouldn't make a routine practice of it for loading cartridges though, if barrel life is of great concern to you.
  
  "Talcum powder is usually made up of various combinations of zinc stearate, magnesium silicates, as well as other silicates which are finely ground."
  
  Stearates are fatty compounds (similar to soaps) & silicates are abrasives. Neither have a place in the environment of modern gun barrels.
