1100 slug question help!!

hi, i recently purchased an 1100 . it has a magnum(3") reciever but a 2 and 3/4" slug barrel. 1-can i shoot 3" shells? 2.will the 2 3/4" slug shells cycle okay? thanks much for any help

  If the chamber length is 2 3/4" then that is as long as you can shoot. If it was marked 3" then you could shoot the 2 3/4" and 3" out of it... Yes, it should cycle just fine, the gas holes are typically slightly larger in barrels made to only shoot 2 3/4".

  Wouldn't you have to lengthen the forcing cone to allow for full expansion of the plastic shell or is this of no concern on slugs ONLY?
  
  I know you can shoot 3" Steel Only in a 2 3/4" receiver due to the lower pressure, but you still need to open the forcing cone in the barrel so the crimping can expand.
