S&W Model 10-RAF

I wouold like to know what a Model 10 Military .38 special, 6 inch barrel with checkered square grips and stamped RAF would be worth. 95% blueing and good to excellent condish. Lanyard loop as well.Anyone?

  The serial number (on the butt of the grip frame) would help determine the age of your revolver. That would go a long way in establishing a value. If there's a letter prefix ('V', 'SV', 'C', etc.), it's a part of the S/N as well.
  
  Does it actually have a model # stamped into the yoke cut (visible when cylinder is open)? If not, it was built prior to 1957. If the grips are original to the gun, they'll have the S/N stamped inside the right panel.
  
  What type of finish does the gun have? Glossy or maybe a matte/parkerized type of finish? Are all the markings clear? Any markings that appear to be non-standard?
  
  All of the above would help identify your gun and could have an impact on the value....

  Thanks Wheelgun. The SN is 698829 and is matched in the grip. no model number stamped in the yoke. however the number 30320 is stamped on the cylinder hinge (if that is what you call the bit holding the cylinder, or is that the yoke?). on the right below the "Made in USA" is stamped "RAF".The gun is glossy blue, not a matte. It appears that this is WW2 issue to a R.A.F. pilot.The RAF markings appear to be non-standard.What do you think?
