what are the advantages/disadvantages of having a 30 inch barrel on a remington wingmaster 12 gauge. found one in great shape for $315.00 , is this a good choice for turkey/ducks ? thanks.

Ok but which will be more accurate and give me the most distance. Jeff

rifled barrel, although the smooth will work fine out to 50 yards, maybe 75. I've seen good groups out of rifled barrels at 125 yards and beyond.

Naturally, a rifled barrel would give you better accuracy. However cheap they ain't. A smooth bore with a cylinder or improved cylinder choke will shoot slugs well too. The sights on a slug gun are more important than the barrel. If it's not rifled. A slug gun with just rifle sights, using regular slugs, should shoot into 3-4" at 100. That's more than good enough for deer.
Be sure and check that a rifled shotgun barrel is not considered to be a rifle for hunting where you are.
