Model 53 22 cal
I was in a gun shop today and they had a (FillInTheBlankPlease) Model 53 22 cal semi-auto modeled on the Win 53. Now I can't remember the name of the manufacturer. Was it Rossi, Taurus? Thanks.

There was a Model 63 semi automatic rifle produced from around 1932 up until the late 1950's or 1960. Taurus is currently importing two versions of this rifle: one blued and another in stainless steel. Retail prices are around $300 for the blued version and about 10% more for the stainless. Is this what you saw in the gun shop? The desigantion Model 53 from Winchester draws a blank with me...but I am not a Winchester expert.

Thanks, Mark. Taurus it was and Win 63 is what I was thinking, not 53. The price was $299 (blued) and the dealer said he had been waiting to get one. Can't say that I was impressed with the quality, but it was interesting. I have a 1903 Winchester and have wanted a 63 for awhile, but, they are scarce and pricey. They don't make them like they used to. 0
