AMT prices
Simple question, why are hardballers so cheap? i thought they were supposed to be more durable then other guns of their class...

AMT has been in and out of business, and used different names, for a long time. It's an investment cast pistol, and you can get forged ones pretty cheaply from other manufacturers. 0 -
Because almost all of their firearms are crummy! I've seen lots of unhappy campers who've purchased AMT firearms.

I had a cherry 380 Backup. The older style. Someone had WELDED the barrel to the frame, for a reason I can't fathom. They must have had a reason, though.
Shot fine, almost never jammed, bought for $130, sold to LEO for $135, found out later it was worth $225.0 -
I've had a Hardballer, an early .380 Backup - welded barrel (loved that gun and want another - still have 2 of the finger rest mags), and a 6" barrelled .22 Magnum. I never had any trouble with any of them, and will eventually have them again. 0 -
I have a 10mm Javelina Love it ! Also a .22 Lightning 6.5" barrel Love it ! and another .22 Lightning 5.5" in. barrel Love them all !!! It's all in how you take care of them. Some guns need more care than others.
