Rotate knurled end of magazine tube 90* CCW.

Pull inter brass tube until it clears the oblong hole in the outer tube.

Drop LONG RIFLE only cartridges, primed end down/bullet end up through the oblong hole.

Load in this fashion until cartridges are visible through the oblong hole in the outer tube.

    Reinstall inter brass tube.

    Rotate knurled end 90* CW.

WARNING: WEAPON IS NOW LOADED. DO NOT PROCEED FURTHER WITHOUT PROPER AUTHORITY. DEATH OR SERIOUS INJURY MAY RESULT

With weapon pointed in a safe direction and only prior to firing. Pull back and release charging handle on the right side.

Receive further instruction from someone familiar with this weapon.

If the bolt is locked open when you are finished loading:

After loading the magazine tub and reinserting it like p3skyking's directions above state, you must depress the action release in front of the trigger guard while pulling back on the charging handle. Then push the charging handle forward to close the action. Now pull back and release once more. This allows it to chamber a round.

Buhner, it sounds like you don't have an owner's manual for the 60.
Check out www.marlinfirearms.com , the folks at Marlin are nice people and would be happy to send you one for free. I would suggest you get one before you shoot it, or at the very least have someone who is familiar with a 60 show you how to operate it properly, as skyking suggested.
BTW, I have one and its tons of fun to shoot[:D]
