gun proof

need a good site to research gun proofs.I have a gun that has a R in an oval on a wooden stand with leafs going up each side.

  Be nice if you told us something about the Gun...Rifle, Shotgun, Combination, Hand Gun, Pistol or Revolver????Then I/We would have a place to start searching...I don't know if you have an Inspectors Mark or a Pressure Inspectors Mark...or an in House Inspector Mark or Arsenal Mark...?... what...? As for a WEB SITE posting Proofs...? I'm sorry to say I've never found one...

  Sounds French or Belgan, especially if scroll-type R, but just a hunch.

  I agree with the Capt., have never found such a site. There are books though, and several folks are petty good with them and several know a good bit about European guns. Give more detail and we will try to help.
