Series 80 can apply to several different guns and frame sizes. A Series 80 Mustang is a small .380, and a Series 80 1911 is a full size gun that is usually in .45ACP, but was offered in many other calibers also. Exactly which model in the Series 80 are you asking about? Mustang, Pony, 1911, or compact?

According to the blue book they are also available in the powerful 10mm round...

Besides the 380 you can have the series 80 in 9mm, 10mm, 40s&w, 38 super, 9x21, 9x23, and 45acp from the Colt factory. They also made 22lr conversion units.

On the Mustang size frame, you are limited to .380 in Colt. If you can stand a little larger frame, you can have your choice of calibers. The Mustangs are becoming very collectable and desired because they are no longer built. You can trade it outright for a Colt compact in the caliber you want. If you want a Mustang size gun, look at an AMT Backup (out of business, but still plenty of guns around) or a Kel-Tec P-40 (.40 S&W, no longer in production). Kel-Tec also currently builds a 9mm model P-11. The AMT's were made in .380, 9mm, .38 Super, .40 S&W, .357 SIG, .400 Corbon, and .45 ACP. I have one in .40 S&W and one in .45 ACP. You would probably like the Kel-Tec better, and it's about half the price of the Colt Mustang.
