Ar-15 value?
I have a Bushmaster A3 M4 that has had less than 5 clips shot through it. I am moving away to school and I need to sell it; What is it worth? Thanks

I own an Ar-15 with a Colt HBAR upper, and a DPMS lower. I am interested finding out what I should ask for a price for this. Condition is great, the HBAR was slightly used when I bought it, and the DPMS lower was brand new 1 year ago. 0 -
Welcome to the forum, your mixed part AR-15 is not worth as much as an AR-15 with matching parts......probably between $400.00 to $600.00 depending on condition.....you'll probably get more for it if you sell the upper and lower separately.

The Colt upper is pre-ban - the lower is post-ban.

I might stand to be corrected BUT,I don't think you should have a pre-ban upper on a post-ban lower.If I am right,it's worth about FIVE YEARS!

If your AR Clone is as you described, it is not a legal firearm and a real problem for you. Does it have a Bayo lug or flash supressor on it? I would check it out quckly and if it is as you say, disassemble it and sell the parts or build two legal ones.

Hello again,post -ban barrels do not have anything on the muzzle,pre-ban barrels have a slotted type fixture on the end.I hope this helps!

Check out Auction 12235918 on Gunbroker. There is a good picture of a Preban AR with a flash suppressor. You may just have an aftermarket
muzzle break that someone added....

Take a close look at whatever "device" is attached to the muzzel of the rifle. Does it unscrew or is it permanently attached-- either by welding or pinning? Chance are excellent that if you cannot unscrew the muzzel device it is a brake and not a flash hidder and the upper is POST-BAN. These mixed parts rifles are just shooters and have no value above the sum total of their parts and if you are thinking about purchasing this rifle from the gun shop I'd suggest that you look into buying a complete rifle from a single manufacturer (Colt/Colt or DMPS/DPMS) rather than a mix-master. Mixed parts rifles are fine if you are building a match rifle and choosing only the finest components which are available, but this does not appear to be the case with your rifle.
