Another Pre Ban Question

My son purchased a Ruger 10/22 (mfg date 1996), it was equipped with a Butler Creek folding stock. Is this legal? He has the original wood stock and was wondering if he should put it back to stock and sell the folder.

  This is not a legal combination. To be compliant with the Crime Bill the folding stock must have been fitted prior to 13 Sept., 1994 and since your rifle was produced in 1996 this would simply not be possible. I suggest that you remove the folder post haste and install the standard fixed stock ASAP.
