Unertl scopes

what is going on with unertl and their target and varmint scopes?Are they going to make them again? Larry

I OWN SEVERAL UNERTAL SCOPES THAT I AM GOING TO SELL. ONE UNIT IN PATICULAR HAS A 4 DIGIT S/N WITH NO "PRIZM" AROUND THE NAME AND S/N.
I CALLED UNERTL AND THEY TOLD ME THE UNIT WAS BUILT IN THE 30'S.
DOES THIS ADD EXTRA VALUE OR WOULD IT DETRACT FROM VALUE BECAUSE OF THE AGE.
ANY IDEAS?

Yes it is feasible. Take the gun to a gunsmith and have them tap the barrel where needed. Then you can install the unertl mounts and then the scope. Getting the alignment by the height of the mounts is critical bet a gunsmith should have no problem.

as stated above it is possible. initially, the scope is designed for the winchester model 52 & 75. i have one on my model 75. i'm not sure how much stress it is capable of absorbing.... maybe someone else can take it from here.

The Unertl or Lyman Supertarget will take High Power rounds. The spring tension will absorb the recoil. Unertl's were used as sniper scopes on various HP guns by the military. You will have no problems.
