Can someone tell me in what year Mossberg made the model 25A bolt action single shot 22 and will it shoot shorts to long rifle as it says on the barrel? There is no S/N on it that I can find.

  I have a mossberg 500a and i was wondering if anyone knows if a mossberg 500 barrel would fit my 500a?

  These are ports. They help reduce recoil, and aid in keeping the barrel down for multiple shots.

  Keep in mind that ports also affect velocity and other ballistics.
  I've noticed some people like porting while others do not.

  Also, porting increases the noise level to the sides.

  thanks guys for the info. As far as the noise to the sides, i wont ever know, I wouldnt own a mossberg if you gave it to me. I am a winchester model 12 type of guy.
