ak47 vs sks

ok i know this is like opening a can of worms , but in 7.62x39 is there a major difference???I already have a ar15 so is this next gun a waste of money

  The AK is often more reliable than the SKS (both are legendary for functioning in nasty environments however). The SKS, however is often a little more accurate. That being said, why not get both? The SAR-1 is still available in the $300 range and the Yugo or Norinco SKS's are still under $200. For around $500 you could figure this out for yourself[;)]

  I agree with kingjoey, but I say get the AK-47 first and buy the SKS afterwards.[8D]

  I agree with gunner. Buy an AK 1st then the sks. You know you need an AK!!!
  
  They are so dang fun to accesorize. My AR is so plain jane, not many ways of dramatically changing it.
  
  Now that I have an AK & an AR, I rarely take my SKS out to shoot.

  ONLY THING THE SAME IS THAT THEY BOTH SHOOT THE SAME AMMO.GET SOME OF EACH AND ENJOY.

  I agree with the other posts. The AK is a hoot to shoot! SKS is fun too! Prices probably wont get any cheaper than they are now, so jump in. Enjoy!
