    Plastic is not a good idea. There are dozens of different types of plastic sheeting out there, & many have plasticizers that will, over time, cause damage to the box. I'd just put it somewhere that is cool & dry, and where it will not be handled or moved often.

    On the other hand, given the lack of collector interest in Winchester commemoratives, it probably isn't worth worrying about.

    If you are interested in keeping these for investments, don't! I purchased six winchesters between 1967-1968 for just that purpose. The included the TR and the Canadian Centennial. I got rid of them last year and they brought nothing in return.

    Do what you want with the boxes and use the Canadian for deer hunting. They aren't worth investment money. Only if you really like them should you buy one.

    But that is my 2 cents.
