The IDPA members of the club I shoot with have only had good things to say about them.

Not a real big fan myself and I will leave it at that.

I just bought an XD, same calibre, 4" bbl. Been having a hoot. Fast, easy to shoot, great ergos, comfortable, light. Shoots pretty good groups (I'm averaging about 2.7" 5-round clusters). No problems mechanically, and it feeds cleanly. Mags just drop right out without persuasion. Definitely recommended.

My old man and I both purchased Springfield XD models last year, I admit they're great.......but I am not a convert.......I'd rather stick to my Glock....The XD has a great grip angle, it's reliable, and has a nice ambi-mag release.

I don't like the grip safety (these belong on Gov't models), I don't like the guide rod which sticks out a little on the muzzle end (it sometimes grabs thread or lint, and I really don't like the finish...the finish needs alot of work. The Glock has a much better finish! I wish I had bought the stainless XD.

Thanks for your opinions. Im looking for a gun that I can take with me on four wheeler rides, camping and such. Something that I dont have to worry about getting scratches on and full of dust. Just blow it off with an air compressor and call it good. I have small hands and have held a couple of Glocks. Too fat of a grip. Need something with single stack mag. Thanks for your help.

If the Glock double stack frame doesn't work for you, try the Glock 36...that is if you don't mind having a .45 ACP instead of a .40 S&W.

If that doesn't feel comfortable and you still like the XD, then make sure to get the stainless model.

a little pricey but if you want quality, high capacity, incredible trigger and accuracy--try the para ord Tac Four. I took a friend--35 year cop, shooting the other day--he owns hundreds of guns--he was so impressed he went out to buy one

The HS2000 is virtually the same gun before Springfield bought the rights. You might find one of those for less money. I think they are great guns, following is a site for both HS2000 and XD.
