What would be normal?
I got my first gun off the auction that was not in the condition as stated. I e-mailed the guy and he replied to send it back and he will refund the money. Should I expect to get back my shipping and transfer costs ($35), or should I expect to eat that. That said, this was not an expensive gun ($300). However he stated condition as like new excellent. Gun came with rust and pits on the barrel, one spot you can see where someone tried to touch it up. Blueing wore though in two spots near the muzzle. Big scratchs on the bottom of the stock and the floor plate nicked up. However the stock is syn. or thats no big deal. This is not just a little difference in opion and I feel that I should not be out anything.

I'd say the shipping and transfer costs are yours. If the seller refunds the cost of the rifle, then he met his obligation.

I agree with Kdub. He should pay for the return shipping though.

Not that I"m a dealer, but in this situation I would personally refund return shipping but not initial shipping (or vice versa). So he would get his money and shipping cost back, but so far as retuns, it is his call so if he wants to return it, it's his dime.
Which is why I only rarely buy a gun sight unseen.

WHAT WERE THE CONDITIONS OF THE AUCTION?? ETC, THREE DAY INSPECTION ??. WHO PAYS RETURN SHIPPING,?? DEALER TRANSFER?? WERE THESE ITEMS COVERED BEFORE YOU MADE YOUR BID?? IF NOT IT SEEMS IT IS YOUR CALL.

I talked to him today. They are willing to make good on everything. I feel lucky. 0 -
I would spread the word about someone like that. 0 -
That's too bad, you're lucky that he said he'd pull through on the deal and accept it back.....Sometimes it's cases like that which make the internet shopper wary of making a purchase. Good Luck!

While you cannot complain about sellers on the boards, nothing would stop you from giving the seller a pat on the back over on the Gen. Discussion board for being an upstanding fellow and making it right.
