Believe your dates are off. He was a known gunsmith from Windsor Vermont who specialized in muzzle loading underhammer guns, probably prior to the Civil War. Nicanor was his first name.
Best thing to do is to get a hands on appraisal from a knowledgeable collector.

Another Tid-Bit...KENDALL arms were made at the Windsor prison in Vermont, using Prison labor in addition to a number of Free Labor to do the finer work..!...Satterlee and Gluckmann allude that Kendall used Eliphalet Remington Barrels from Ilion, N.Y..
Kendall gave up the gun business in 1842, and in 1843 N. Kendall in association with Richard S. Lawrence established a gun shop, in which they were joined by S.E. Robbins in 1844. Known as Robbins, Kendall & Lawrence..
If Your Gun is Stamped or Engraved with Kendall's name alone...Then Your Gun is Probably one of the early 1835-43 made guns...
