Kimber 84M
I am looking at purchasing a Kimber 84M. I heard they are accurate rifles. I am looking at a .308. I was wondering if anyone had first hand experience with one. I was wondering if they are that accurate?, and how does their light weight effect felt recoil and is it difficult to hold them steady due to its light weight.

Hi.The KIMBER is a very nice gun.I assume you are looking at this for your son,I see your other post.I think the kimber is over rated.I would rather have a sako if I wanted a new rifle.But the best thing I feel is a pre 64 winchester model 70.They are not that expensive and you can always find a nice one in 30/06 or 270 just abought any time.And they are a collectors item and will allways hold their value.Just my feelings on the matter.Good luck.Rick 0 -
I agree with Doc. The Sako or the new Tikka T3(more affordable) would be a great choice. I have not seen the Kimber and I have been looking into them myself. I think the verdict is still out on them. If you want tried and true quality Anything Sako is awesome. The Model 70 is great as well but I would only get the pre-64 classic rifles. The new Black Shadow was anything but impressive to me, No way would I own one. Just my .02 worth. 0 -

Can anyone tell me what rules on there were broken as I didnt see anything on it bad at all?????
The other rifle that I didnt mention above that I am very fond of and may own one again soon is the Browning A bolt. It is a very very nice gun. I would buy it before the Winchester. I know they are the same company but I think the Browning gets the higher quality line. Also a fantastic round for a new shooter is the 25-06. It will down anything a 30-06 will with alot less recoil. My first gun was a A-Bolt Medalion in a 25-06 and I have kicked myself ever since the day I traded it off. Now I am up to .04 worth LOL.
PS My current rifle is a Sako TRG-S in 7mmSTW and the quality is second to none.0
