info on m-1 carbine barrels if military barrels will fit iver johnson model and where to buy.

Yes, a USGI barrel will fit.

Try PSW Sales at pswss@starpower.net (or 301-330-2500). Before buying any barrel, be sure to measure the bore with a muzzle wear gauge, or ask the seller what the muzzle wear measurement is (new USGI barrels are in the 1.0-3.0 range).

Replacing the barrel is 95% of the work in assembling an M1 carbine; it needs to be done by a gunsmith with the appropriate tools & fixtures.

You can try ebay,usually somebody has them and most are US GI surplus.Most of the people that I have dealt with on ebay were very honest in thier descpiptions, but be careful of what you buy,you might be buying somone else's junk. If you want a brand-new barrel you can try TAPCO.COM in Atlanta GA.or sportsmansguide.com, both of these places usually have them.NMYERS is correct in his advise to you about the barrel installation, YOU DO NOT want to shoot a weapon that has incorrect head-spacing as this is very dangerous.
