Ruger model 77/ Browning A-bolt opinions?
I have a model 77 varmint in .243 but i dont know anything about the stainless sporter or stainless synthetic versions. Anyone own/shoot one? What do you think of it? Same goes for the A-bolt White Medallion, the one with the purdy wood stock and stainless finish, any one know much about em? Thanks!

I have a ruger MK II stainless 30-06 which I have been loading for recently. It has actually suprised me with it's groups. I am getting sub MOA with 125gr nbt's and N140. The actions have a strong design, well suited for any mishaps. The barrels for a number of years, from what I understand, were sub-contracted and some were quite crappy. They have supposedly now in the past 5-6yrs started to rectify that by making their own?? Mine is shooting quite well for a sporter barreled factory rifle.
The white medaliion is nothing but a medaliion grade a-bolt in stainless with a larger price tag. I have a medallion in 7mm-08 which is a pleasure to both carry and shoot.
as far as accuracy and long range work,..neither of these would be my choice. But, for carry guns that are well made and reliable,..either one fits the bill nicely.
why chase the game when the bullet can get em from here?....

I sold my MKII .270 a while back.
Loved it,but this other fellow loved it more.
Replaced it with an A-bolt in synthetic,also .270.
Haven't hunted with it yet,but as far as punchin'
paper goes,It seems to be better than I am.

I'VE WORKED ON BOTH AND OWN A RUGER MK II IT 7mm MAG. BROWNING= PRETTY, RUGER=RUGGED BOTH SHOOT VERY WELL. 0 -
