Savage Mod.99 300 savage
Curious, going to a show this weekend, always swapping something and I have an older mod.99, 333XXX number, that is 99%, has the removeable forearm, isn't something I will ever shoot, want to sell at a fair price but am not sure what that is ??? Condition is excellant, blueing 99%, very few nicks, wood is a-1. Any savage experts out there, this was inherited from an older friend and has to be from the 30's at least I would think.

The value will depend greatly upon which model it is. I know it is a 99, but the 99 were issued in so many configurations there are are letter models assigned such as R. That said, the caliber is also a common one which hurts value and until the last 3 or 4 years you would do well to get $450. Someone must have published a magazine article saying they are collectable, because now you are looking at something more like $550-650. If it was .250-3000, I would be making you an offer! They really are a lot of fun to shoot.

The serial # would place manufacture somewhere towards the tail end of 1929. As He-Dog says, model #, condition, original finish or refrubrished, altered in any way, etc, all have impact on value. It will also depend on finding someone looking for that particular model to fill out a collection.
