interesting m1 carbine inland/rockola
hi i got a carbine today, i bought it as a rock-ola, the thing is when i looked close enough inland is underneath the sight, then there is a serial # in the 4xx,xxx range and then rock-ola is stamped underneath the serial #. any idea on what this is and what it is worth? any help would be appreciated.

In 1943 Inland shipped 2,000 receivers to Rock-ola to help with their production; these receivers were in the 400,000-500,000 range. The Inland name was lined out & the Rock-ola name was struck.
These are quite scarce. Value would depend on condition & how much of the carbine is original (parts & finish).

I'm looking for a "wall-hanger" M1 Carbine for a militaria display. It would be OK if it were pretty beat up and didn't even fire. Any ideas of how much, and where to look? 0 -
It depends on what you're willing to pay, the receiver is usually the most expensive thing. An original WWII carbine even beat up like a rockola we had sold for $200, you can get a civilian version, like a universal, iver johnson which were made after WWII look just the same, you can get those for around $200-$300 depending on which brand there are a lot more postWWII brands out.

Thanks for your thoughts. I want an authentic one - one with the milled sights and horizontal (?) sling mount in the buttstock - but I don't mind how beat up it is, or if it will even fire. Wallhanger only.
Any thoughts about where to look?0 -
hi, you can do like we did and put a want ad in a couple of newspapers, the first call we got was for the early style rock-ola with original 1943 lake city ammo in the box all for $200, it was a rust bucket but cleaned up nicely, give it a try. also you can post a want ad on here as well.
