1:48 twist Muzzleloader and 348gr Powerbelts
Can someone share their experiences with the 348 grain all lead hollow point Powerbelt. I have a 54 cal Renegade w/ 1:48 twist. Can I expect these bullets to shoot well in my rifle? (I now, I now, I just have to try it to find out.) I just want to know if anyone has tried this combo.[:)]

I have a Hawken replica with a 28" barrel with a 1:48 twist and I get very good groups using 370 grain maxi-balls and 90 grains by volume, not weight, of GOEX-FFF black powder.I have taken two bucks in the 100 yard range with open sights using this load.
IT'S BETTER TO BE JUDGED BY 12, THAN CARRIED BY 6!0 -
I have my answer. I went out and shot 7 powerbelts at 35 yards with my Renegade. The first 4 shots produced a group size of about 6 inches. That was with 90gr of 777. The next 3 shots produced a group of 2 inches with 100gr of 777. Today I will go out and try 100 yards and I will also try increasing the charge up to 105 grains to see if they tighten-up anymore. I'm not looking for super accuracy; an 8" group at 100 yards I think should be good enough for Elk. 0
