Commercial M1 Carbine Receivers

Which commmercial M1 Carbine receivers vary greatly dimensionally from USGI M1 Carbines and if so how are they different? I do realize there are slight differences between all makes, just looking for info on those that are very different and not compatible with certain parts and stocks. It's my understanding some(Universal)receivers have a greater width and others have pinned barrels.
