Saginaw M1 carbine question
I have a Saginaw SG M1 carbine with the early fixed flip sight
ss#1809xxx. All markings are right but the barrel is marked
BA where the date should be, no bomb, there is a P about an inch
befor the wood. Also it looks like there was a flash hider that
has been removed. The gun is in beautiful shape, even the wood
is perfect. Can anybody tell me whats with the barrel? How does
it affect the value. And what is the value? Thanks

I believe it's Buffalo Arms. They only made barrels. I think you are right on this. My refs are at the shop, but I'm sure someone will verify.

P3SKYKING is correct, your barrel was made by BUFFALO ARMS, they and MARLIN were sub-contractors used to help out the war effort. These barrels were not known for good accuracy but they are semi-rare ,so I think you made a good find!
IT'S BETTER TO BE JUDGED BY 12,THAN CARRIED BY 6!0
