22LR in an AR 15
I saw a conversion unit or two for an AR15 to shoot 22LR. Any thoughts on how viable this is and also the accuracy of the combination?

I had one of the military units. Fun to play with. Worked about 90% and accuracy, while not steller, was okay at short ranges.
Ammo choice is of paramount importance. USE GOOD STUFF. Really dirty ammo is a major pain, cleaning and functioning.

I have one of the Ciener units, and it works great but is partial to federal ammo.
Unless you get one of the dedicated uppers for .22LR they will shoot low because the .22LR does not shoot flat like the .223 or 5.56mm ammo. .22LR bullets start dropping WWWWAAAAYYYY before their .223 big brother.0 -
well instead of buying a conversion unit i bought a jager 22 log rifle copy its ok[8D] 0 -
Like Lefty said, the Ciener units are pretty good........If I had a little more to spend, I'd go with a complete "dedicated" upper.
