FFg & FFFg Pyrodex
I was wondering if it is okay to use FFg equivalent Pyrodex in a cap & ball revolver. I'm am nearly out of the FFFg Pyrodex that I have had for years and I can't get it locally unless I order it, and it's not worth the $20 HazMat fee considering the small amount of powder I need. Pyrodex for rifle and shotgun is easy to find around here at any Wal-Mart, and a recipe I found for paper cartridges for cap & ball revolvers recommends FFg. Is it safe to use the larger granulated powder in a revolver?

I asked this same question about two months ago and the consensus was that it was fine. I haven't had a chance to try it yet but it seems logical to me. If you can imagine 160 years ago I'm sure they used whatever granulation if any they had. Good luck. 0 -
Thanks. I am tempted to try it when I get home.
