    I have a S&W revolver and I would like to know what the model is and an aprox. value. Under the cylinder it is stamped G 5 under that is the num. 2013. cond. is 95%.

    More info is needed to identify your gun. The numbers you're looking at are only assembly numbers and have no meaning as far as telling us what model of gun you have.

    What caliber markings are on the barrel? How many rounds will the cylinder hold? Does it have adjustable or fixed sights? The serial number is located on the butt of the grip frame on all but a very few S&W wheelguns, and may include a letter in addition to the numbers. The serial number will give us an idea of when the gun was built.

    the gun is blued, 6" barrel, adj. sights, 6shot, .38 S&W special ctg, serial # K 83382.

    Look at the frame where the crane is. If it was made after about 1953 it will have the model number stamped there.

    Based on your desc, it looks like you have a model 14 also called the K-38. That ser# was made in 1949.

    It is worth about $200.00.
