Bluing/Parkerizing

Looking for the simplest bluing and the simplest parkerizing.I dont need a collecters finish. These are workin guns.These guns are in saddle scabbords, 4wheelers p/u trucks and air boat nothin fancy.I need it simple,construction accident restricts me abit From getting that long pain staking journey into the hot bluing proscess

  Have you considered one of the bake on finishes? Might be the easiest!

  There are plent of Parkerizing kits for sale on Ebay. Also you can search the web for "Parkerizing at Home" and there are several sites describing the chemicals needed and lots of "how to" information.

  Dealer cost for parkerizing a pistol usually goes for 75.00 to 100.00 or like the others said, there are always do it yourself kits out there.

  Well, bluing looks pretty, thats about that. Parkerizing offers a decent rust protection that the military has used since WWII. But its kinda obsolete. For near the same price there are several bake on self lubricating polymer finishes that offer alot better protection, and some even claim to make you gun more reliable. I personally prefer Armor Kote. Its the current finish that Springfield Armory is using. And if you handy, then you can do it yourself. Its available thru brownell's. I've had my Beretta 96 Armor Koted. No lubrication ever required, just run the gun dry and don't worry about it. Throw it in mud... Take it apart and take a water hose to it. Use non abbrasive soap and warm water to clean everything except for the bore (standard cleaning for the bore, just like any other gun). I tell you for a in use gun, I'm highly sold on armor kote. If you interested one of the local gunshops here in beaumont, tx offer's it.

  Blue Wonder is a product fairly new to the market. I have had some good results with it. They have a webside novumsolutions.com that has a little video demonstrating it.
