30-06 accelerator's

[:D]yes,anybody ever shoot any of the 30-06 accelerator's,and how did they do,where they very accurate,yes-no.i will be shooting them in a ruger mod.77,maybe several hundred yard's varmint hunting.any information will be appreciated[:D]

  I got them for my 30-06 and 30-30. Accuracy is mediocre at best. The rifling of the barrels are usally meant for heavier bullets in the 150 to 180 grain range depending on the caliber. Even though the sabot fills barrel bore, without the weight, the bullet really doesn't stabilize as well.

  When the 22-250 came out, the accelerator was developed , so that you could shoot varmints as well larger game. It was an attmept to allow the consumer to have the best of both worlds. It is a small 55 grain, bullet like the 22-250 encased in a split nylon sabot. The sabot seperates and falls... just like in your shotgun shells.and the 55 grain projectile is left in flight. I have never heard of any extreme long range accuracy. But I am sure that they are great up close. Better off using the original chambering stamped on your rifle or get a varmint rifle.
