Who makes the better AR, and why is it better?

  Can anyone tell me the actual differences between these two? I want a Bushmaster Shorty (postban)(w/heavy barrel) and i found one for a decent price online but i just came back from a gun show where i saw the Olympic Arms version for over $100 dollars less. Honestly i couldn't tell the difference just by looking at them, other then the logo of course.
  Considering the fact that i will only be using it for fun and at a range under 250 yards, I don't want a really expensive one, but i don't want junk either. Which direction should i go?

  In my opinion Bushmaster makes the better AR-15, you can tell in the workmanship, fit & finish, & better accuracy.
  
  Besides that, I've heard more complaints about an Olympic Arms....although most are minor malfunctions.[8D]

  Bushmaster had the most recent military contract. All the standard Bushy's have chrome lined barrels which is a plus for cleaning. I myself have owned a a Bushy XM15E2S which I sold to a friend when I was out of work. I currently own a Rock River LAR15 which is just as nice as the Bushy I had but w/o the chrome lined barrel. I've looked over the Olympic PCR AR's and they look good. I'd stay away from thier plinker rifle. The ones I have handled were cheap feeling. The controls seemed to wobbel.
  
  If your concerned about the chrome lining, get a stainless barrel.

  I agree with the above posts. Bushmaster, Aramlite (eagle arms), RRA, colt, and olympic all make quality products. The oly plinker is crap, but their other guns are ok, and they have good customer service (lifetime) as do all the others listed above, so you shouldn't have any problems with any of them.

  I have owned and shot both. I prefer the Bushmaster over the Oly. When I would try and match another upper to my Oly lower I would have alot of play between the upper and lower or it would not function at all. The complete Oly rifle worked well just dont try and mix and match. The Bushmaster on ther other hand mixed and matched very well and shot very well also. I chose the Bushmaster. My 2 cents. [8D]

  Bushmaster warranty = 1 year, Olympic Arms = Lifetime; you tell me which product is better quality!

  Nothing is wrong with the Wilson AR-15 except for the HIGH price!
  
  I own a Wilson Gov't Model, but when it comes to the AR-15, I'd rather spend my $$$$ on pre-ban AR-15![:D]
