Take my opinion for what it's worth....and it's just that....an opinion. But, save your money and walk on by the hi-points.[:D]

They are what they cost, cheap! Although they are cheap, I know a few fellas who own the Hi-Point 9MM Carbine. They purchased it because it was so low priced. According to them, it functions fine, but is time consuming to disassemble and clean. I'd steer clear from their pistols though![8D]

I have the pistol and carbine in 9mm. I love to shoot the carbine. The pistol is alright for the price and shoots fairly good but if you are after a pistol for protection save your money and buy something else.

Just as "gunner" said,I bought my carbine
at the pawn shop for $120,just to have a cheap
gun behind the seat w/a little more punch
than a .22.It works fine w/the right ammo(fmj)
and plenty of oil.Took it out the other day to
knock the dust out of it and it worked perfectly.[^]
I don't know a thing about their pistols though.

IT'S WHAT PEOPLE KNOW ABOUT THEMSELVES THAT MAKES THEM AFRAID.0 -
I have the carbine in 9mm and it's an OK plinker. Like gunner said, you get what you pay for. However, they still shoot well for the price, depending on your application (home/personal defense, plinking, etc.) You won't win any matches with it[:D].

Junk guns. Have done more damage to the cause of gun ownership in American than Handgun Control Inc. 0 -
I've owned several of these pistols. They have functioned fine with reloads and several types of ammo. Sights "out of the box" need to be worked, but they are consistent within 50 ft. (this is not a target quality gun).
As stated by so many, this is not a Glock or a Clark, looks ugly, goes bang for fun. Thousands of rounds shot (normally these are my "loaner" guns for when someone wants to go to the range with me).
I have dealt with the factory direct and always found them to be very nice people. A good value. Expectations are the key, if you expect this to be anything but a fun gun, then you will be disappointed. I also would not recommend this class weapon for self defense, of course, that depends on what you think your worth.

The old ones a trash. The newer ones mfg'd by MKS are like big 22's. They are fun to plink around with, but not something worth having otherwise. Thats just my opinion. 0
