    With or without bayonet?

The Carcano didn't come about until 1891. Even an excellant example w/ bayonet and all matching numbers (if you have the folding bayonet version) isn't going to be worth more than $200.

This one has the folding bayonnet the stamp on the side of the stock has the crown stamp and 41 under it . it is in very good shape just missing a spring for the magazine. also has 941-xix stamped on the barrel.

That would be a 1941 Moschetto per Cavalleria made in the 19th year of Mussolini's rule. There are several more subvariants of this rifle. Go to: http://attila.stevens-tech.edu/~glibera1/carcano/models.html

www.gunparts.com should have the spring though it is a bit of a ***** to get in there, let me tell you.

In excellant shape I stand by my $200 as a top price, probably $125 to $175 would be the more realistic range.

Should you want to fire it caliber is 6.5X52mm and www.grafs.com has the proper ammo as this thing took an odd .268" bullet and it is hard to find ammo with this bullet in the US, resulting in poor accuracy. A lot of folks hate these rifles but I very much like them. They aren't Mausers but are strong actions, more than adequate for the cartridge, well made if not always well finished, and accurate if they have good bores with proper ammo.

I need some help in finding out how the magazine works for this gun it looks like there is parts missing but not sure could some one please help me find the schematic or parts brake down for this. I have a numrich's book but that does not tell me if the carbine is the same or how the ammo is held in the magazine.does the ammo fit in the mag like that of the m1 garand with a clip? Thanks Steve
