I have one and I am sure I wouldn't give it to my mom for self defense. The gun and controls are small and may be difficult to operate. Accuracy is marginal as with any small semi-auto. This is not a great gun to give anyone other than something to plink around with. But then what can one expect for a gun that cost $49?

its already the family gun folks. im just returning it to duty. dad must have gotten it while i was in the navy and away from home. i knew dad had a gun, but he never showed it to me. (an old fashioned responsible gun owner.) thanks for the concern. its just a break contact gun to ward off someone who might come at her on a lonley country road while getting the mail 100 yds from house. her best defense is to run. the gun gives her that option. its light, compact and a perfect size. see, we have a junk car lot next to us in the woods and we occasionally get people parking in our lower driveway near the garage as they go 'fishing' at night. they think our driveway is the junkyards. chains and cones, they still come. its usually teenagers too cheap to buy parts. so, its just nice to brandish if mom is walking down there and some goon pops out of the woods with a 89 ford escort front bumper. it has never been fired by either of them in defense that i know of. this mystery unvails itself in strange ways. try leaving home for 22 years and come back to fit the puzzle together! i found a better gun in the safe a while back. it is a high standard sentinal mk2 357 4". it appears dad must have known the 22 was broken and just tossed it in with his stuff. so...the good news is dad had a gun that worked when he did his night drops, which makes me feel better overall. the 357 is a beefy grip gun. i like it. it shoots fine. i have it loaded with surplus winchester 38 special. it is the primary gun in the home now. (the gun mom would retreat to.) once my partner from this chat room sends me a fp, im gonna test it, oil it, and just have it for mom to use if she chooses to. she prefers a hay fork anyway! and shes good with it too! (good old german hun stock!) let me go dig out some winchester 22 wildcats i found in the closet and set them aside for when i test fire. they are old but should work. thanks again for your inputs!
