does anyone have any first hand experience with this caliber i'm thinking of having one built and would like to know more about it. the articles i have read on the caliber seem to make it out to be the greatest thing on the planet, but i'm just a little cautious. is the recoil low enough to spot your shots, and can i make 400 yard shots in the wind. my 17's have difficulties making shots over 350 with a wind. any responses are appreciated.

    You're going to have to get a hold of Todd Kindler and see what he has to say. I tried all of my reamer resources and I don't see a listing for it.

    Thanks. I have tried Oak ridge, but get no response to orders, Email, or telephone calls. They do list it, but it seems like they are having problems in the area of customer service, product service, etc.
    Used to be very good. Will order my oun reamer and gages from midway.
    Will try and get several of the gunsmiths in this area to exchange reamer, lists and therby provide better service to our customers. Geri

    Wow, I think I've seen maybe one printed word "20 tactical" in an advertisement or something and thats it.

    Are you building a 20tac rifle? Are you making a bolt gun or an AR type or what???

    I found this posted on another site and it answers why we can get an answer or get their website up. Elk Ridge/Shawnee Tool/Reamer Rentals are all the same set up.

    Reamer Rentals is very much in business complete with computer troubles like you can't believe. I was talking to Dave Kiff the other day when I could not bring up there webisite or e-mail and the story goes like this. There website with there ordering and there customer orders and there telephone system is all in the same computer. Would anyone like to take a wild ass guess as to what happened????? You betcha charlie the whole thing fried. I got a thru to them at 541-471-9161 and the lady was very nice and remembered the reamer I had ordered and I got it this afternoon. I just tried there website and it still is not coming up. Anyone needing reamers may call there and get help. Please be nice because they are up to there neck in problems and they don't need anyone blowing off at them. Our industry needs this company and it is in all of our best interest to give them a hand.

    Thanks, for all the input. I did get two of the reamers last nite. Still have a 3ed on order. I suspected computor problems, but I originaly ordered the 20 tactical reamer and gages last june. I received them last nite. I am getting my oun reamers, and gages for this calliber. I have to many requests and interested shooters. They also list the 17 ackley hornet, and I will try and rent that. Righ now I am bulding a 20 tactical, on a Howa action for a customer. Have used these actions for several custom rifles, and found them to be quite well made, and easy to work with. The theads is 26 mm X 1.5 mm. 55 degree. I can cut that quite well on my lathe, and get a No. 4 fit. Just finished a 17 mach 4, turned out quite well, and yes I did rent the reamer and gages from shawnie. In all the years I have done buisiness with them, this year is the first time I had experianced any problems. They are good people. Geri
