    Thanks for the info, the web sites were very helpful. Dotcom guy30 said very succinctly what I verbosely stated in the initial message. I was trying to find out if anyone knew who "sporterized" these weapons, or was that a common thing in the late 40's and 50's after the war. Just curious ;) John

    Hard to understand how one can declare a
    rifle "ruined" without first seeing it.
    Griffin & Howe "ruined" quite a few surplus rifles.
    Rather nicely, I might add.
