    enjoy the gun. but if you want a real treat, find an old original one, the 1929 version. it is by far worth every penny. ive shot mine for almost 20 years now. be advised...lever action 410's like factory shells and they get tricky to cycle with reloads.

    The gun shop owner told me that he had one of the early Marlins about a year ago, the second one he's seen in 25 years of business. My reference book says they were a giveaway for folks who bought stock. There is one on GunBroker now for $995, which is a little pricey for me at this time. 410s can be a lot of fun so long as we don't ask too much of them. btw, does anybody know why the 2 1/2 chamber? I'm guessing they just couldn't make the action work with a 3", but, anybody know for sure? Thanks.
