In fact I was/am happy with all 3.
1. Work. The Black "T" finish, that I like to use is as about as good as it gets for teflon type finish. All and I mean all surfaces of the gun (except bore)get the finish that is super to repel rust and cut friction.
BUT, it will scratch.
2. Cost. Actual cost of finish and shipping charge is more reasonable than I would have expected, especially after I see the
"quality" of work.
3. Turn Around Time. Has averaged 6-8 weeks. Not bad, but you knowhow "slow" time passes when you want that "special toy" back in your
hands.
My first experience with Birdsong finish was when I acquired a "unique" piece from another GB Member.
It is a Birdsong "Phosphate" finished HK P7 M13, which was sent
to Birdsong by the Federal Park Service along with a number of
other P7's (they had all their P7's phosphated at the time).
It somehow did not stay with the rest of the FED. order and in fact was kept by HK and eventually sold by an HK Rep. to the person I acquired it from.
After boring you with "extra" information, I know you'll be more than
satisfied with any work that Walter does for you.
I plan on getting down to visit with him in person, later this fall.0 -
Spring Creek: Many thanks. I have a Scattergun Technologies Border Patrol with the Wilson green "Tuff" finish that has not held up well. I want to redo the Wilson coating with the Birdsong NATO green as on my 681. Again, many thanks to you for your help. 0
