adding weight to AL391 + stock adj.

I recently got a Beretta AL391 to use for Sporting Clays. I am generally pleased with the way it fits but it weighs about 1lb less than my 3200 I use for skeet thus I am a little "jerky" with my swing. I would appreciate anyone offering their opinions of the various add-on weights available. Also, the stock (parallel comb model)is adjustable by means of changing included spacers. Can I combine the two spacers to increase drop or does Beretta offer spacers other than the ones that came with the gun. Thank you for your help.

    They make weights that fit inside the butt stock. Talk to you local gun smith. Try using the two spacers and see what happens, should work. They do make replacemnet spacers. Email them. Regards Dave

    what length bbl do you have? see if you can buy an accessory trap 30/32" bbl with screw in chokes. that will slow your swing down a little. being too light is the number one complaint of those guns. is there any room in your stock bolt area behind the butt to put some lead pellets in? fill it up and tape it off.

    any room in the forearm for a mercury recoil reducer? those are pretty heavy. try one!

    The gun has a 28" Optima bore bbl. It feels to me as if it needs more weight towards the front more so than the back end but I'm not sure. I don't think I want a longer bbl, my 3200 has - don't laugh - 26" bbls and weighs about 8.6 lbs. I know the popular trend is for longer bbls but I can shoot the heck out of that 3200 in any gauge, the only way to explain it is that that particular gun becomes part of me when I shoot skeet. It sometimes seems to take over when I start to mess up and make things right. I am trying to get a similar "balanced" feel as the 3200 has. I think that will smooth out my swing with the 391.     geesh. i cant imagine why you bought the gun. if you like weight, you should have gone with a super xm-1. or an 1100 that has mag cap wts built for it. i shoot my super x in doubles and 12ga events. it has a merc reducer up front, and i took a dummy cartdrige, put a dead primer in it, and filled it full of lead and crimped it. i electrical taped it into the spring coils ahead of the reducer and that brought the weight to equal my 3200. repeat...IN THE COILS, thats is...coils wrapped around the dummy cartridge.) try taping some dead hulls full of lead up in the mag tube. you dont need 4 shots anyway. follow me>?

    Thanks bobski, I will give that a shot. I got a deal I couldn't pass up on the gun and it truly is very close to being "right" for me. I'm sure that you know how impotant that really is. My 3200 is PERFECT for me - it's just natural. I had a citori before the 3200 and even after stock adjustments and other things I could never shoot over a 99 with it. I got the 3200 and the 2nd time I shot it I ran 100. I guess I've been spoiled by it.
    BTW - the gun (3200) has Purbaugh tubes, is it possible/feasible to have screw in chokes installed at this point without re-tubing?

    kolar and briley got the patent on the screw in system. i dont see why not. just curious, how are your 20ga tubes holding up? are the chamber rims cracking? i shoot a 3200 comp skt 28" with my tubes in them.

    Gee - are you psychic or what? The top 20ga tube chamber rim is gone but still shoots great.

    ive been plagued with 20ga rims cracking off with my tubes. everyone blames me, but it is caused by shooters too lazy to use my plastic insertion tool to seat the tubes gently. ive watched 100's of shooters just slip em in and slam them flush with the mallet in a hurry to a shootoff, and wonder why the alloy tube keeps going and the rim stops and cracks off. brand x uses titanium chambers but, if you hit them hard enough, theyll crack too. btw...did you weigh up your gun with lead yet?
