problem with my citori...
I had a great dove hunt with my 12 gauge browning. But after cleaning it that night, it won't close properly. Typically I snap it shut, but now I have to hold the release-lever open to allow the gun to close. It seems like the problem is with something spring-loaded. I don't want this problem when waterfowl season rolls around.
I haven't heard of a decent gunsmith around here, so if at all possible, I'd like to take care of this myself. The basic mechanics of the gun don't seem too difficult.

When the barrel is un-breeched, look in the crossbolt cut at the right front of the recoil shield, there should be a plunger, this plunger holds the lever in the unlocked position until the crossbolt extension on the barrel contacts it releasing the top lever, apparantly your plunger is not functioning, apply a good penetrant oil and open a nd close the lever, this may free the frozen plunger,
