Mcmillan TiN rifle barrels from 1990s?
About ten-twelve years ago, Gale Mcmillan offered a bolt action rifle made, substantially of Titanium. As I recall, the barrel was also made of Titaniumm. But the ID of the barrel required Titanium nitriding for the barrel to maintain its use for several thousand rounds.
Can anyone identify the company who did the nitriding for Mcmillan? So far as I can tell, he is no longer in the business of making these rifles.

Lance,
I don't recall those particular rifles but that's not to say that they weren't in production. The problem that I see with TiN coating the bore of a rifle barrel is that if it was done 10-12 years ago, it would still used today. It would be considered to be the Mecca of barrel making. The folks that I have queried about TiN coating
"tubes" on the inside, tell me that it can be done but only for very short lengths correctly, as in about 3 inches. But the best way to get a real answer would be to contact Kelly McMillan and ask him what the scoop is.
www.mcmfamily.com is the website which has the e-mail contacts and the phone numbers. They are located in Phoenix Arizona.
