Thompson 1928 A1 SMG
I recently stripped down my smg,a Thompson 1928 A1 Navy Commemorative that I have mentioned today concerning the barrel. The main reason for asking about this weapon is that the republished manual doesnt show the exact configuration for taking down the receiver group. I have three springs, it appears one for the firing pin and two for the bolt. Can anyone tell me the proper sequence for finishing this and any special tools I might need or could substitute for dis/re-assembly??
Any idea of its worth ?? It supposedly has WW2 warehoused stocks and had a high blue finish and gold overlayed compensator,sights and trigger.Also has embedded Navy Medallions,numbered #25 on 50 rd mag and 20 rd mag.with leather sling. Thanks

I'm going to do something here that I don't do often enough...pass you over to some REAL experts. Thompsons, like Lugers, old Winchesters, Colts, and M1 Garands are a highly technical subject. While I do understand the workings of the original Colt 1921/28 and M1/M1A1 US military versions, the Auto Ordnanace commercial guns are a mystery to me and the AHF Navy version only complicates the issue. I honestly suggest that you post this same topic over on www.machinegunbooks.com where they have a dedicated Thompson forum packed full of Thompson tech nuts who should be more than happy to help you out.
