Witness Compact Mag Problem

I just bought a new Witness compact,(all steel), 9mm in the wonder finish..Seems to be well made, but I am having problems with the mag..No matter what I do, only 9rds can be loaded into the mag. I took it apart and looked at it, had some friends try to load 10rds, switched ammo, but no results...I can't seem to figure this one out.. I need one of the experts here to help me correct this problem.. Thanks

  I would disassemble the mag and inspect the follower and tube for a burr or a "dog nut" in the weld along the back. Sometimes either problem will cause the follower to bind at a certain point in the tube. I've seen the same thing happen with some of the cheapo hi-caps for Berettas and Hi-powers. The mag will jam when loading (and sometimes when unloading, which is far more disturbing[:0]). You might also check the spring and make sure it isn't in reversed or twisted. Either can cause the spring to bind against itself.
