My Dad's 45, stamped ejercito de cuba (I exercise cuba) sn#311652, would like any info about this gun, our books dont list this sn#.

  Believe "Ejercito de Cuba" means "Army of Cuba". It would probably denote your Dad's New Service was made as part of a run for a Cuban Military Contract.
  Perhaps it never reached Cuba though?
  Don't have Sutherlands Colt Book anymore, so can't help you with any more then that.
