Stevens model 887 22 auto?
We took a Stevens model 887 in on trade at my fathers shop and it needs an outside ejector. I went to Numrich Arms and they list a model 88 but no 887. Here is my question, is the modell 887 a sub-model of the 88? They look the same and if the 887 is a sub-model of the 88 then the ejectors should interchange, correct? Does any one know anything about these models or parts? Any help/advice would be greatly appreciated.

I have an old Stevens / Springfield 87a .22 autoloader that I fixed up. When I was looking for parts I found this posted on the Usenet.

.22 Caliber Automatic Repeating Tubular Magazine Rifles:
Parts for Stevens and Springfield Models 87A-87AB-87B-87AT-76A...also the identical Savage Models 6A-6AB-6B. Most of these same parts are also used on the Stevens 85E-85KE .22 Cal. Auto Repeating Clip Magazine Rifle.

If your 887 is one with the "vents" on the left side, I would suspect that is is essentially the same as the above models. After seeing ads in old magazines from the 30's I think that the variation in models revolves around sights/stock/fittings etc on the same basic rifle. I don't know for sure, but this may help you get started.0 -
Thanks for the info. I was leaning toward them being basically the same as to mechanics but was wanting some other opinions to confirm that. Again thanks. 0
