Be sure your grip screws are not too tight. 0 -
Pact, the Taurus PT145 is a polymer framed pistol, it doesn't have grip screws.
As for the possible cause to the problem however, some guns are designed to not let the mag drop freely. Others will have some fouling in the mag well that can cause this to happen. In other cases the mag can have a high spot or two that will rub and cause the mag to not drop freely. Some guns will have a magazine disconnect safety that will rub on the mag and prevent it from falling. And yes on guns with removeable grips and grip screws, a screw can protrude into the mag well and prevent the mag from dropping freely.
There can be a variety of reasons why this might occur. On a poly frame, sometimes there is just a small piece of material still left from the manufacturing process that can create this type of problem. Without examining the gun more closely, I can't say with certainty what the problem is.0 -

Are you using a factory Taurus magazine? If it's an aftermarket then that could be part of your problem. My PT92 does not like aftermarket mags. 0 -
Look on the magazine to see where there are signs of wear. This will allow you to determine where the magazine is hanging up. 0 -
factory mag and there is some wear on the mag, in the center there is a line 0 -
Does this model has a magazine safety. It sounds like perhaps a magazine safety is dragging and hanging up the magazine. I have a similar situation with my Browning HP's. If there is no mag safety, then perhaps a protrusion in the magazine well that is causing the line and hanging up the magazine. 0
