JCHiggins 30-06 model information wanted
i have a j c higgins rifle, in 30-06, the action says HVA ACTION, made in Sweden, the barrel shows J C HIGGINS MODEL 51-L, SEARS, ROEBUCK & CO, 583.510C.
I am unable to find it as a cross reference. Canyou tell me who made this and what it is approximately equal to in a barreled action equivalent? Also maybe a value. It has a safety on the right side of the bolt, a sliding type safety, it hass about a 22 inch barrel, 95% bluing remaining, good wood with a few scratches, and a sling has been mounted. thanks very much

Your rifle was made by Husquvarna in Sweden. It doesen't get any better.I don't know the current value, but a better Mauser action would be hard to find.
