the double action function of Taurus revolvers? I have a Taurus .357 Mag that will not always discharge the round when just pulling the trigger. The reason that I think it may be the pistol is b/c the round will fire if you pull the hammer back first. It almost seems as if you can hear it, or feel it (the hammer) not hitting as hard as it should all of the time. This has been with handloads, so there is the possibitity that I have a bad batch of primers, but I kind of doubt that. I have not purchased store bought ammo for this particular caliber in a long time. I guess maybe I should give that a shot to see if I'm having the same problem. I figured I would check with you guys first, before spending twice as much $ on store bought ammo. Has anyone else ever experienced this? Thanks!

  I have heard that if you stage the trigger when you pull it you can have light hits. You have to pull the trigger straight thru in order to have reliable ignition. I read this in an article about Taurus revolvers.

  If you check carefully you will see that when fired single action the hammer is more rearward than when fired double action. It will therefore will strike the primer with more force on single action.
  You will need a stiffer hammer spring to reliably fire your handloads double action.
